Outfitbuster (Gozer and Ghostbuster)

So as of now, rottentomatoes  claims that Ghostbusters has a 75%. That’s pretty fresh… for a remake. And I have been pretty excited this film since I saw the trailer. I might do another post once I see the film this weekend.

Can I talk about how this trailer had some backlash? Can I also mention that all the criticisms I’ve read online have been from men? Sorry that an all female cast is too much for 2016. Sorry-not sorry. Seriously, the first 15 critics on rottentomatoes are men. All the women who commented loved it… except one. And isn’t that all that matters? I won’t start on a rant about how sexist Hollywood is, but…

Actually, short story. At one of my internships (I won’t mention which), I was on set fora  day as a PA, and no one knew that I had past experience with red cameras. My job was a focus-puller back in the day. I know what to do as gaffer, etc. But I wasn’t given any jobs, really, except to watch everyone’s stuff. I can’t complain, but it hit me why I was put there: I’m a girl. And I’m short, tiny, so it doesn’t help. At the end of the day, I picked up a large (and not that heavy) box and two crew members (guys) were surprised I could carry it to the van. Yeah, I’ve done heavy lifting in my life. What were you expecting?

K, I’m done.

But I need to be prepared when I do see it. I need to a very difficult disneybound. So difficult that I might not be able to do it at all. This is the most challenging creation I’ve had to put together yet. Feel free to refer back to this when thinking about your upcoming halloween costumes.

The bag was found on pinterest… probably for the superfan, but anyone can add this for a costume. To be a true ghostbuster, you need the black boots, like these Dr. Martins. And you need the suit! Also found this on pinterest. In case people don’t understand what you’re going for, add these earrings, and everyone will think you’re a ghostbuster-ess at first glance.

TO BE GOZER: think white. Get these wide-legged pants and this turtleneck sweater. Also, think BIG and baggy. Because Gozer is a huge dude. It might be hard to find the exact blue scarf or hat, but any navy handkerchief to tie around your neck will be fine, like this one. And the hat can be found cheap, I’m sure. But check this one out for only $45! And it’s stylish enough to use in another outfit. Get your white boots (preferably sturdy, fashionable boots). Or get some Uggs to use in winter too!  The icing on the cake is the red bow necklace if you can’t find a red bow to wrap around your neck on top of the blue scarf. A necklace, like this, is simple to place under the scarf. Tie a knot to secure the scarf right above the bow, so that the red bow pops up under the scarf. Total Gozer look!
